Follow-up report: 31st Forum Asbestos and other Building Pollutants
For the 31st time, the Forum Asbestos took place at the Haus der Technik in Essen on November 10th and 11th, 2022. In order to do justice to the continuing situation, this year there was the possibility to participate in person on site, as well as to join online. Here is a summary of our impressions of the conference:
Renovation of asbestos and other pollutants: Current developments and experiences
The focus of the current conference was once again on the latest developments and experiences in the field of the remediation of asbestos and other harmful substances in and on buildings and technical installations. In addition to the lectures, there was again much opportunity for technical discussions to exchange views on current problems and experiences.
Once again, renowned experts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were invited to give exciting and practical presentations on the following topics:
- Current developments on building pollutants in Switzerland and Germany
- Amendment of the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances
- Asbestos in regulations and in practice
- Asbestos in existing buildings
- Asbestos in construction waste
- Deconstruction of building components containing asbestos in concrete
- Artificial mineral fibers and other dusts containing fibers
The conference was again chaired by Dr. Bernd Sedat of SVB Sachverständigenbüro Sedat.
The participants mainly included occupational safety officers and experts according to TRGS 519 as well as all interested parties involved in planning, construction and remediation. The forum was rounded off by the trade exhibition, where leading manufacturers and service companies presented their latest solutions to interested trade visitors. Of course, CRB Analyse Service GmbH also had the opportunity to present its extensive portfolio in the field of asbestos and mineral fiber analysis.
Conclusion
As every year, we were again pleased to be able to participate in the Forum Asbestos at the Haus der Technik. In particular, being able to discuss current developments and experiences with other conference participants, colleagues and old acquaintances always makes the conference a special event.
